How Mines games work
The mechanics behind the genre, and what's actually going on under the hood.
The core loop
Mines is played on a grid (5x5, 25 tiles here) hiding a number of mines you choose before the round starts. Fewer mines means safer, smaller multipliers per pick; more mines means bigger multipliers per pick but a much higher chance the very next tile ends the round. You reveal tiles one at a time: each safe tile (a gem) raises the multiplier a little more, and you can cash out after any successful pick to lock in the current multiplier as your win.
Hit a mine and the round ends immediately. The bet is lost and the rest of the board is revealed so you can see where every mine was. There's no pattern to where mines sit; each tile you haven't revealed yet has the same odds as any other, recalculated fresh after every pick based on how many safe tiles and mines remain.
Provably fair, on real-money platforms
On real-money crypto platforms like Gamdom, the mine layout is typically generated with a provably fair algorithm: a cryptographic hash seeds the board before the round starts, so it's fixed in advance but can't be predicted or altered by the platform, and can be verified against the published hash afterward. The free demo above is a simplified simulation for practice only. It isn't provably fair, isn't connected to Gamdom's real round history, and exists purely so you can get a feel for the format before playing anywhere for real.

Set your bet and mine count
Type a bet amount or use the ½, 2×, and Max shortcuts, then pick how many of the 25 tiles are mines: anywhere from 1 (safest, smallest multipliers) to 24 (one safe tile, huge multiplier if you find it).

Place your bet
Once you place a bet the board goes live and the mine layout is locked in behind the scenes. You just don't know where they are yet.

Reveal tiles one at a time
Click any hidden tile. A gem raises your multiplier and keeps the round going; a mine ends it immediately and reveals the whole board.

Cash out whenever you've found a gem
After at least one safe pick, "Cash Out" is live. Click it any time to lock in the current multiplier instead of risking the next tile.
Mines strategy tips
None of this guarantees a win. Mines is a negative-expectation game, like every casino format, but these are the habits experienced players tend to follow.
More mines means higher variance, not better odds
Picking a higher mine count raises the multiplier per gem, but it raises your chance of hitting a mine on the very next click by exactly the same amount. It doesn't shift the underlying fairness of the game, just how spiky your results feel.
Decide your cash-out point before you start clicking
It's easy to keep clicking "just one more tile" as the multiplier grows. Deciding in advance (say, "I'll cash out after 3 gems") takes that in-the-moment pressure out of the decision.
A low mine count with more picks can rival a high mine count with fewer
Because the multiplier compounds with every safe pick, revealing several tiles at a low mine count can reach similar payouts to a couple of picks at a high mine count, with a much lower chance of busting along the way.
Remember this demo isn't the real odds
Our simulation is built to feel like a real Mines round, but its exact multiplier curve is ours, not Gamdom's. Treat it as practice for the mechanic, not a way to study Gamdom's actual payout curve.

Each safe pick raises the multiplier based on how many tiles and mines remain: the same fair-odds math used by well-known Mines implementations elsewhere, so cashing out at any fixed number of picks is a break-even bet before any house edge. Gamdom's real game may weight its payouts differently, so check their rules for the exact figures.
